Volunteering

Is the set of actions for social and community interest, performed by disinterested people, in projects, programs and other forms of assistance to the service of individuals, families and communities, developed by non-profit public or private entities. The actions which, however, have isolated and sporadic nature or are determined by family, friendship and good neighbourhood are not covered by this law.

Volunteer

It is the individual that in a free, responsible and selfless manner, pledges, according to their own abilities and in his spare time, do voluntary work within a promoting organization. The quality of volunteer may not, in any form, steer from a relation between employer and employee or independent of any relationship or financial content with the originating organization, without prejudice to special arrangements set out in the Act.
